Leslie Mentzer Wedding
Do you have old newspaper clippings tucked away in your genealogy files? I do, and I’m deeply grateful that my grandmothers had the foresight to save them. I’m also thankful for the Kansas newspaper publishers who recognized the importance of preserving their work as far back as the 1860s. Today, those efforts are paying off, with many of these historic newspapers being digitized as copyright allows.
Among the treasures I uncovered is a clipping announcing the marriage of Leslie Mentzer and Vesta Danielson.
Mentzer–Danielson
Mr. Leslie Mentzer and Miss Vesta Danielson were united in marriage at the Methodist parsonage by Rev. Hall, Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock.
The bride wore a lovely dress of gray georgette.
They left immediately for Pittsburg, Kansas on a short honeymoon. On their return they will be at their home west of town.
Mr. and Mrs. Mentzer are well known in Neosho Falls and have a host of friends who join in wishing them a long journey together on life’s pathway. May many joys be theirs.
