Draw Order Numbers Thursday
The national lottery for drawing new order numbers is to be held Thursday, the 17th. Ceremonies at Washington D.C. will start near 7:00 p.m. Secretary Stimson will draw the first number. The drawing will take some two hours. As soon as possible after it is completed, master lists will be sent to all local selective service boards.
Kansas August Quota, 734
It has been announced that the August draft quota for the state will be 734 men. The breakdown for separate counties has not been announced.
The state quota for July was over 1300, and Nemaha County was asked to send 12. This quota was later cut to nine because of men who were over 28.
Nemaha County may have a higher quota in August, in proportion to the state quota, than it had in July. State headquarters has been giving the county credit for men in the Sabetha battery; credits are about used, it is believed.
